The inevitable conclusion is that investors, suppliers, customers, and end users should stay closely attuned to semiconductor industry developments or face the risk of falling behind the advanced technology curve. A variety of viewpoints, each contending for mindshare, might open the industry to more attention, investment and growth.
But is that bad? A fragmented industry situation could actually be beneficial. Today many in the semiconductor industry continue to embrace Moore’s Law, although divergent viewpoints are becoming increasingly prominent.
